No vendemos datos.
3.2 RevenueCat, Inc. (Estados Unidos)
Recibe:
- un identificador anónimo que crea la app en tu móvil (no es tu nombre, ni tu correo, ni tu Apple ID ni tu cuenta de Google);
- los datos de tus compras en el App Store: productos, fechas, si la suscripción está activa, país y moneda de la tienda e identificadores de transacción;
- datos técnicos necesarios para responder a la app, como la versión de la app y del sistema (iOS o Android), el idioma y la dirección IP;
- de cada compra de una suscripción, lo que RevenueCat nos avisa: el identificador anónimo, producto, fecha, precio, moneda, si es de prueba (sandbox) e identificadores de transacción, y si después hubo un reembolso. Sirve para saber si una suscripción es la primera;
No vendemos datos.
5. Transferencias internacionales

Chef privacy policy
In short
- Chef has no accounts. Your answers, menu, shopping list and pantry are stored only on your phone.
- For subscriptions we use Apple or Google (depending on where you got Chef, they take the payment) and RevenueCat (checks whether your subscription is active). RevenueCat receives an anonymous ID, your App Store or Google Play purchase data and, only if you enter one, your creator code. RevenueCat also tells our server about each purchase, so we can pay creators (section 3.6).
- Only if you allow it (we ask when you start and you can change it in Settings), Chef sends anonymous usage data to PostHog so we can see what works and what doesn't. If you say no, nothing is sent.
- No ads, no tracking across apps and no artificial intelligence while you use the app. We don't sell data.
- You can erase your data from your phone in Settings > Delete my data, and write to us at lukas160@icloud.com.
1. Who is responsible
Chef is an app by Lukas Padvelskis ("we"), England and Wales (address available on request via the support email). For any privacy question, write to lukas160@icloud.com.
2. What stays on your phone
Chef works without sign-up. Everything below is stored in the app's private storage on your phone. We don't receive it and we don't send it to anyone.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Your name, if you enter it | To greet you in the app. |
| Answers to the first questionnaire: age group, goal, what you find hardest, time to cook and how you found Chef | What you find hardest picks one of the questionnaire's texts; cooking time is used to suggest quicker dishes; age group, goal and how you found Chef are only stored. None of it leaves your phone. |
| Where you live (region of Spain), supermarket, household size, days, budget, what to plan, microwave, favourite kinds of dishes, diet, allergies, ingredients you dislike, kitchen appliances and the meat and fish you eat | To plan your week and work out the shopping total. |
| Your week, shopping list, items ticked as bought, items you add, pantry, ratings, favourites, dish history, dishes cooked and receipt totals you note down | To make the app work and let you compare our total with what you paid. |
| Settings: language and reminders | To show the app in your language and schedule reminders on your phone. |
| Creator code, if you enter one | To know which creator recommended Chef. It is also sent to RevenueCat (section 3.2) and to Chef's server (section 3.6). |
Some of this, such as your allergies or diet, can be sensitive. That is why it never leaves your phone. As with any app, your phone's system may include it in your phone backups (iCloud, Google or your computer), which Apple or Google manage.
Reminders (menu ready, batch cook day, lunchboxes to move to the fridge) are created and scheduled on your own phone. Chef uses no push notifications or push tokens. You can switch them off in the app's Settings or in iPhone Settings.
3. What leaves your phone and who receives it
3.1 Apple and Google
Purchases and subscriptions are made with your Apple ID through the App Store or with your Google account through Google Play. The store takes the payment; we never see your card details. Apple's privacy policy applies.
3.2 RevenueCat, Inc. (United States)
RevenueCat manages subscriptions on our behalf, as our processor. It receives:
- an anonymous ID created by the app on your phone (not your name, email, Apple ID or Google account);
- your App Store or Google Play purchase data: products, dates, whether the subscription is active, store country and currency, and transaction IDs;
- technical data needed to answer the app, such as app and system version (iOS or Android), language and IP address;
- your creator code, only if you enter one.
Why: to know whether Chef Premium is active, restore your purchases and know which creator recommended Chef so we can pay them. Legal basis: performing the subscription contract, and our legitimate interest in attributing sign-ups to creators. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
3.3 Expo, by 650 Industries, Inc. (United States)
Chef may check for an app update with Expo's EAS Update service. When it does, it sends a random installation ID, the platform and the installed app version, and your IP address. Why: to deliver fixes to the app. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the app working. See Expo's privacy policy.
3.4 PostHog, Inc. (United States; usage data, only with your permission)
If you turn on "Share usage data" (when you start or in Settings), Chef sends anonymous usage data to PostHog, as our processor: a random ID created on your phone, which screens you open and what you do (for example building your week, opening a recipe, viewing the plans or starting a subscription), and general details such as your supermarket, plan type, household size, language, iPhone model and iOS and app version. Never your name or anything you type. We don't use your IP address to work out where you are. If you agree, the same anonymous ID is also stored in RevenueCat so subscription starts, renewals and cancellations can be related to how the app is used.
Why: to understand where people get stuck and make Chef better. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by turning off "Share usage data" in Settings; the app then stops sending data and forgets the ID. The data is hosted in PostHog's United States data centre. See PostHog's privacy policy.
3.5 If you write to us
If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply.
3.6 Chef's server (Supabase, London)
To pay the creators who recommend Chef, our server (hosted by Supabase, as our processor, in London) keeps:
- for every subscription purchase, what RevenueCat tells us: the anonymous ID, product, date, price, currency, whether it was a test (sandbox) purchase and transaction IDs, and whether it was later refunded. This is how we know whether a subscription is the first one;
- only if you enter a creator code: the code, with the date, and that you finished the opening questionnaire, with the date (not your answers).
Why: to know whether your first subscription came from a creator and work out their commission. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in paying creators. If you remove the code in the app, your later purchases are no longer credited to anyone.
What we don't do
Chef has no ads, uses no crash-reporting tools, uses no analytics without your permission (section 3.4), doesn't track you across apps or websites (it doesn't use the advertising identifier) and uses no artificial intelligence while you use it. Our server keeps only what section 3.6 lists. We don't sell data.
4. Supermarket prices
Prices ship inside the app and come from OpenCesta open data (ODbL licence). Chef sends nothing to OpenCesta or to any supermarket.
5. International transfers
RevenueCat, Expo and PostHog are in the United States. Transfers rely on the safeguards of the EU General Data Protection Regulation, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider takes part. Chef's server is in London (United Kingdom), which has a European Commission adequacy decision.
6. How long we keep data
- Data on your phone: until you erase it in Settings > Delete my data or delete the app. Erasing your data doesn't cancel your subscription; you manage that in your Apple or Google Play account.
- RevenueCat: as long as needed to manage your subscription and meet legal and accounting duties. If you want us to delete that record, email us the order number (Order ID) from your Apple purchase receipt.
- PostHog: usage data is deleted automatically after 12 months at most.
- Chef's server (creator codes): as long as needed to pay creators and meet accounting duties. Email us if you want it deleted.
- Emails: as long as needed to handle your request.
7. Your rights
You can ask us for access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and portability by writing to lukas160@icloud.com. Data that is only on your phone is under your direct control. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country; in Spain that is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (www.aepd.es).
8. Children
Chef is made for adults who organise their household's meals. It is not directed at children and we don't knowingly collect children's data. If you are a minor, use Chef with a parent or guardian.
9. Security
Your data is stored in the app's private space, protected by your phone's system (iOS or Android). What is sent to RevenueCat, Expo, PostHog and Chef's server is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
10. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
